Welcome to the Jernigan Laboratory
Our Laboratory focuses on Molecular Computations on
Molecular Structures - their simulations and deriving functions.
We are in the Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology and Laurence H. Baker Center for Bioinformatics and Biological Statistics at Iowa State University, Ames,
Iowa.
Major Research Interests

|
Theoretical and computational
studies on the structures, sequences and functions of proteins, nucleic
acids, and their interactions, including:
- Simulations of protein motions
- Relationships
among structure, sequence and function
- Interaction
models for proteins and nucleic acids
- Computational
tools to aid molecular modeling and the design of new molecules and
drugs
- High
